CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Although as a rule we are not advocates of overprotectiveness, we do advise against exposing our products to direct sunlight or high heat, as this could dry the wood and invite cracking or discolouration. Water can also cause discolouration, so avoid drenching theitems.

If the wood becomes stained, procure a sheet of fine (#200) to very fine (#400) grained sandpaper. Tear a small square of sandpaper, then instruct the child to sand the area of the stain in the direction of the wood grain, not pressing too hard, for 30-60 seconds, or until the stain is no longer visible.

It is also possible (with our without sanding) to use a small amount of beeswax for finishing if desired. Beeswax is the waxed produced in the bellies of worker bees and used to cap the cells of honeycomb in their beehive, where the baby bees are growing.

All-natural beeswax has been used for centuries to polish and preserve wood, favoured because it raises and embellishes the wood’s glossy patina. In its pure form, beeswax – like the honey it was designed to protect - is safe enough to eat, which is why it’s often used on wooden salad bowls and wooden kitchen implements.
